Our founder, Nevena Borissova, styled a Spring 2013 editorial featuring the hottest graphics of the season against the art-covered walls of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District with photographer Leonardo Corredor. Little did she know then that Wynwood Rising would land in Vogue Brasil along with a feature on her and how she’s built CURVE! Our friends at Image Amplified were kind enough to feature the shoot on their website, and we couldn’t be prouder of Nevena! Enjoy some bonus behind-the-scenes pix of the incredible art after the jump! Big thanks goes to Leonardo, Brandon Fogel from CURVE Soleil, Virginia Le Fay, Karina @ Front Management, El Chan Guri, Jona Cerwinske, Sancrisabel, Brisky Gallery, Dorst Gallery, and a special muito obrigado to Vogue Brasil!
The Art of Fashion
A big congrats to CURVE favorite Dion Lee for being named the Australian winner and overall finalist for the International Woolmark Prize! The Prize is a global fashion design award that identifies emerging designers that employ a fresh take in their use of Merino wool in their collections, and the judging panel boasts a who’s who of fashion including Diane von Furstenberg, Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani, Donatella Versace, and Victoria Beckham. In the video above, Dion discusses the architectural influences on his pieces, and we’re not the only ones who see his collection as a work of art! Dion’s groundbreaking (and award-winning!) Spring 2013 collection is available at CURVE, including the jacket of LIFE shown after the jump!
CURVE favorite Georgia Hardinge has just collaborated with high street retailer River Island and the buzz is huge! Since launching her label in 2009, Georgia has become a fan favorite for her geometrically chic pieces, and she counts Ldy Gaga, Beyoncé, and Rihanna among her clients. The prints Georgia selected are based on the work of Alien visual effects artist HR Giger and feature sculptural elements on the midriff, and clutches with spine-like detailing. Enjoy the Alex Turvey-directed short film above!!
Jeff Koons’ colour-pop paintings were part of Thea Bregazzi and husband Justin Thornton’s inspiration behind Preen’s resort 2013 collection. The duo mixed the color surrealism with sporty details for a fresh and cool Preen collection that we can’t wait to get into stores!
It seems that sporty is here to stay, at least for another season….

In another fashion first, the CFDA Fashion Awards will be broadcast for the first time in its 50 year history! Traditionally, the awards are given out at a private ceremony and press reports on the winners afterwards, however the ceremony will be shown on Style.com on June 5th – a day after the awards are handed out. This is the second traditionally private fashion event to be broadcast to the masses in as many months…..do we sense a trend? After getting hooked on The Fashion Fund, we’re excited to see whatever the CFDA decides to give us a peek at!
Will you be watching? Who do you think will win?

Carine Roitfeld is putting together an ‘ALL BLACK EVERYTHING” fashion show for the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS party in Cannes next week. Based on the what Roitfeld considers the “perfect black wardrobe”, looks have already been donated from Balenciaga, Chanel, Givenchy, Christopher Kane, Alex Wang, and more, and will be auctioned off after the show as a whole lot. Who’s buying all of those pieces…together? A super-rich sample size socialite or someone who’s going to flip it on eBay is our guess….either way, we wish it was us!!!! And no, the Jay-Z reference doesn’t imply his involvement, although it’s never too late to donate a performance for charity…..hint, hint…..
