Curve in the Press

Our founder, Nevena Borissova, styled a Spring 2013 editorial featuring the hottest graphics of the season against the art-covered walls of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District with photographer Leonardo Corredor. Little did she know then that Wynwood Rising would land in Vogue Brasil along with a feature on her and how she’s built CURVE!  Our friends at Image Amplified were kind enough to feature the shoot on their website, and we couldn’t be prouder of Nevena!  Enjoy some bonus behind-the-scenes pix of the incredible art after the jump!  Big thanks goes to Leonardo, Brandon Fogel from CURVE Soleil, Virginia Le Fay, Karina @ Front Management,  El Chan Guri, Jona Cerwinske, Sancrisabel, Brisky Gallery, Dorst Gallery, and a special muito obrigado to Vogue Brasil!

Confirming what all of us as CURVE has known all along (we’re employees and fans), Refinery29 selected Nevena as one of the chicest boutique owners in Los Angeles!  In the article, she tells Brenna Egan how she got her start, what she’s learned along the way and what she’s obsessed with now!!  (Hint: it comes from across the pond!)

Erin & Steph of The Coveteur have just relaunched their site, and it comes with an amazing new feature!!!  You can now build your own “closet” with your favorite images from ther site!!  So all the pieces you loved from Nevena’s Coveteur shoot – those sick Valentino booties that weren’t produced?  The little family of Céline bags? Dorian’s Hello Kitty skateboard?  You can now add them to your virtual closet!  So what are you waiting for??  “Shop” away!!!

Beyonce hit the Parisian streets in our very own A.O.T.C. pants, and Carven’s ethnic print blouse.  Both available at Curve!

Here’s the latest model tendency Nevena’s spotted on models off the runway – colored denim:

I don’t know who’s more upset, the Marlboro cowboys all over the world, or the ghost of James Dean…but gone are the days of the good ole’ blue jean. It’s all about colored denim as of late, anything from Mother Denim’s hot pink hue or their butter cup yellow. We’re wearing them with chunky neutral sweaters or a putty peplum blazer for a more refined look. No matter what your style is, incorporating colored denim into your wardrobe is a must…my apologies, John Wayne!

Nevena’s got a brand new bag – she’s now a trend forecaster for MODELINIA:  the first global media brand dedicated to the best of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle through the eyes and experiences of the world’s most popular supermodels!  After they fell in love with Nevena’s “On The Road” editorial, Modelinia asked Nevena to lend her sartorial sense of style to the supermodel-centric blog  and report on what she sees the runway set wearing the world over each week.  First up – Candy Kane!   Click the image above to shop some of the season’s best brights from Curve, and stay tuned to see what model tendencies Nevena spies with her little eye*

A huge trend for Spring (and one of my personal favorites) is neon brights! You’ve seen it all over the runways and now every model is interpreting it in her own way. Some opt for the statement pieces in rainbow inspired bright colors from Alexander Wang, or the killer Erickson Beamon neon tribal insanity. Others use neon accents in bags like the Celine Nano, the Christian Louboutin Pigalle pump, or a J-Crew fluorescent pink deep V Tee. The key to the look is pairing them with neutrals and mixing them in a “tri-color block” of black and white. How would I wear it? I choose the leader of the pack: Christopher Kane, whose ‘Moto’ jacket in bright acid yellow I can’t stop wearing! No matter how much (or little) you want to turn up the volume on your look with brights, there’s a way for everyone to wear this trend and look current.

Tomorrow, Gilt City Miami is launching their Insiders program, where local tastemakers curate sales from their favorite places in the city.  Internet entrepreneur (and fashionista extraordinaire) Loren Ridinger was tapped to be first, and selected Curve Soleil as one of her favorite places to share with everyone!  Loren is the epitome of the Miami jetset – from running the wildly successful Market America with her husband JR Ridinger to hosting parties by Vogue at her fabulous villa with friends like Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Paulina Rubio and more, she knows the best of the best that Miami has to offer!  I chatted with Loren about what makes the businesses she picked worth of being “Loren Ridinger” approved:

Nevena has wowed the masses again with another amazing design collaboration!  Fresh from the success of the Pucca collaboration, Genetic Denim’s creative director Ali Fatourechi created the Genetic Visionaries collection so he could collaborate with people he feels are true trailblazers and chose Nevena to design the first installment.  Nevena’s inspiration?  The sexy, relaxed and carefree denim-on-denim look of the Seventies – a strong emerging trend for Spring 2011.  Dark skinny jeans are slowly giving way to a higher rise and a wider leg in washes that rival the bluest of California skies and vintage finishes.    Endearingly, the six styles Nevena designed are named after a member of her staff and are reiminiscent of their personal style!  Since debuting on the market this year, Nevena’s Genetic Visionaries collection has become an instant  hit amongst celebrities, magazines and fashionistas all over the world, and a huge success for Curve and Genetic Denim!   Limited quantities are left,  so come join the Curve 70s revival!

Available now in all Curve locations and on www.shopcurve.com.

Nevena’s 70s-inspired Genetic Visionaries collection is featured on InStyle.com!  Kate Walsh is shown wearing a pair of the Adriane Quilted Bell Bottoms that she got from Curve in Los Angeles.  Other celebrities rocking Nevena’s collection include Beyoncé,  Erin Wasson, Amber Valetta, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Carmen Electra***

Have you gotten yours yet?  What’s your favorite style?  I’m sure you know what mine is :)
