In “we never saw that coming” news, Valentino hired Terry Richardson to shoot their latest accessories campaign. The image is shot in Terry’s signature style, a high contrast blown out image which really plays up the punch of the rock stud styles (and the rock star photographer’s tattoos). We give it a huge thumbs up and applaud creative directors Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s new direction from the hazy aesthetic we’ve come to expect from a Valentino ad. Nicola Formichetti bids farewell to Mugler after five mind-blowing, groundbreaking seasons! He compiled 5 Instagrams of his favorite moments during his tenure. Since we’ve supported (and carried) Mugler since Nicola started, we certainly remember and were a part of some of these moments: especially the Muglerette bag he created for CURVE’s 15th Anniversary!!
We wish the best of luck to Nicola in his new position at Diesel! Come to CURVE to get pieces from his final Spring collection for Mugler, which will surely become collector’s items!
Our founder, Nevena Borissova, styled a Spring 2013 editorial featuring the hottest graphics of the season against the art-covered walls of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District with photographer Leonardo Corredor. Little did she know then that Wynwood Rising would land in Vogue Brasil along with a feature on her and how she’s built CURVE! Our friends at Image Amplified were kind enough to feature the shoot on their website, and we couldn’t be prouder of Nevena! A big congrats to CURVE favorite Dion Lee for being named the Australian winner and overall finalist for the International Woolmark Prize! The Prize is a global fashion design award that identifies emerging designers that employ a fresh take in their use of Merino wool in their collections, and the judging panel boasts a who’s who of fashion including Diane von Furstenberg, Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani, Donatella Versace, and Victoria Beckham. In the video above, Dion discusses the architectural influences on his pieces, and we’re not the only ones who see his collection as a work of art! Dion’s groundbreaking (and award-winning!) Maybe he’s inspired by his new Balenciaga gig, but we see a very grown up effort for Fall/Winter 13: he’s clearly embraced the modern and it feels very fresh! He’s dictating the new trends and we can’t wait to see it hanging on the racks at CURVE!

Four years, 5 NEWGEN awards, and a Elle Style Jewelry Designer of the Year award later, Dominic’s pieces have been seen on Rihanna, Florence Welch, and Beyonce, and his newest collection is now available at Curve! We’ve been waiting for what seems like forever but it’s finally here!
CURVE favorite Georgia Hardinge has just collaborated with high street retailer River Island and the buzz is huge! Since launching her label in 2009, Georgia has become a fan favorite for her geometrically chic pieces, and she counts Ldy Gaga, Beyoncé, and Rihanna among her clients. The prints Georgia selected are based on the work of Alien visual effects artist HR Giger and feature sculptural elements on the midriff, and clutches with spine-like detailing. It was rumored today that Carine Roitfeld, one of Alexander Wang’s most fervent supporters and friends, will possibly become the stylist for Balenciaga now that Wang has taken over as creative director…..

We are super excited to announce that Proenza Schouler has returned to Curve! The New York boys, who are famous for their innovative and directional pieces (and of course, their IT bags), seem to be moving in more of a streetwear direction with their resort collection, on par with what we see in Tommy Ton’s street style pics as of late. Their boyfriend jeans, slouchy t-shirts, relaxed tweed sets, and leather pieces are still forward: even while being relaxed. That’s the Proenza touch!
