Today we celebrate the life of another trailblazer in fashion: Cherilyn Sarkisian, better known as Cher! This incredibly accomplished woman is known for her outrageous style, but even more importantly, she pioneered the advancement of non-white women (and women in general) in Hollywood and has excelled in every area of entertainment she touches! The only person to have a number 1 hit in 5 different decades, Cher is showing no signs of slowing down. Enjoy some of our favorite fashion moments from the birthday girl, including Half Breed, her Bob Mackie creations, and, OF COURSE, If I Could Turn Back Time!

It’s the 65th birthday of one of the most influential people in music, modeling, and photography! Grace Jones almost single handedly ushered in the era of androgynous sexy and is responsible for some of your favorite song, images, and movies of all time. Her beauty is inspiring, her style undeniable. She’s no doubt an inspiration for CURVE. Modelinia, the website for all things supermodel, listed CURVE as one of the go to shopping destination for the supers in LA, New York and Miami! Most recently Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Bar Refaeli, Karolina Kurkova, Erin Heatherton, and more catwalkers have come in to get ahead of the CURVE, but anyone can come to CURVE and get their supermodel shop on! Big thanks to Modelinia!!
In “we never saw that coming” news, Valentino hired Terry Richardson to shoot their latest accessories campaign. The image is shot in Terry’s signature style, a high contrast blown out image which really plays up the punch of the rock stud styles (and the rock star photographer’s tattoos). We give it a huge thumbs up and applaud creative directors Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s new direction from the hazy aesthetic we’ve come to expect from a Valentino ad. What do you think?
Brandon Fogel from CURVE Soleil in Miami Beach styles this shoot for Fashion Gone Rogue in the best of Spring from CURVE. Photographers Elliot & Erick capture Pia Wille (MC2) in brightly colored hues from Alexander Wang, Versace, Jen Kao and more, and Bo completes the editorial with super sleek hair and makeup. We’re so proud of you, Brandon! See more from the shoot after the jump!

Joseph Altuzarra, in addition to being a super sick designer, was classically trained in ballet as a child growing up in Paris. So news of him designing the New York City Ballet costumes for tonight’s spring gala makes total sense! He took inspiration from the movement of dancers and infused it with “American ease, nonchalance and playfulness”. The collaboration also marks the 25th anniversary of the NYCB’s American Music Festival.

I normally don’t share personal stories, but this one is so good I have to share it with the world! Our friends Adam Harteau, his wife Emily, and their toddler daughter Colette started a Kickstarter to fund Our Open Road, a mobile art project involving the family driving from California to the southernmost tip of South America and back in their Westfalia! We first met Adam, a fine artist, when he painted our windows at CURVE LA and created custom pieces for Usher’s Confessions Tour, and Emily’s a fashion designer who was our rep for Hysteric Glamour! They’ve since given birth to a beautiful daughter Colette, and they are documenting every step of their incredibly inspiring trip on their website and their Instagram page. Even better are their 24 Hr Bazaars, where they source the most insane wares from local artisans – and I’ve shopped from every one! So do yourself a favor: follow them and share their beautiful journey with your family and friends! Enjoy more amazing images after the jump!

ACNE
Acne Studios is part of the creative collective Acne (Ambition to Create Novel Expression) which was founded in Stockholm, in 1996. In 1997, co-founder Jonny Johansson created one hundred pairs of jeans in raw denim with red stitching and gave them away to friends and family in Stockholm. This became the foundation of the clothing branch of Acne, now known as Acne Studios. Another unique angle of the “epitome-of-cool” brand is that it’s marketed through the wildly popular biannual magazine called Acne Paper, which covers art, fashion, architecture, and more.
