This incredibly accomplished woman is known for her outrageous style, but even more importantly, she pioneered the advancement of non-white women (and women in general) in Hollywood and has excelled in every area of entertainment she touches! The annual CFDA Awards are approaching, and there’s quite a few nominated designers that you can shop at CURVE! One such designer is the carefree wild child of accessories, Pamela Love. Pamela’s first career choice wasn’t jewelry: she graduated from NYC’s Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Experimental Film and Art Direction, and worked as an art director and painting assistant to renowned painter Francesco Clemente. She started making jewelry in her apartment in 2006, and hasn’t looked back since. Her creations are inspired by botany, alchemy, astrology, and architecture, among other things, and all gemstones and semiprecious stones are ethically sourced and almost all metal used is recycled. Below are some of Pamela’s nature inspired pieces available now at CURVE, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a win!

In “we never saw that coming” news, Valentino hired Terry Richardson to shoot their latest accessories campaign. The image is shot in Terry’s signature style, a high contrast blown out image which really plays up the punch of the rock stud styles (and the rock star photographer’s tattoos). We give it a huge thumbs up and applaud creative directors Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s new direction from the hazy aesthetic we’ve come to expect from a Valentino ad. Joseph Altuzarra, in addition to being a super sick designer, was classically trained in ballet as a child growing up in Paris. So news of him designing the New York City Ballet costumes for tonight’s spring gala makes total sense! He took inspiration from the movement of dancers and infused it with “American ease, nonchalance and playfulness”. The collaboration also marks the 25^th anniversary of the NYCB’s American Music Festival.
