If you follow our blog, you know that we are head-over-heels obsessed with Bill Cunningham, our favorite street style photographer. Long a resident of a cramped studio above Carnegie Hall (have you seen it in the documentary? Super intense), he changed out of his usual blue jacket and donned a tux to collect his award surrounded by more than 450 of Manhattan’s finest, still with his trusty Nikon around his neck! At 83 years young, he is still razor sharp at catching trends and he is an inspiration to all of us.
A big congratulations to Bill from all of us at Curve!! We love you!!

If last weekend’s weather at Coachella threw you off as much as it did us…you know how confusing your suit case looked when you got out to the desert! This weekend, packing will be much easier as the weather will be normal…a cool 110 degrees! follow our lead and you’ll be looking good and staying cool.
New obsession alert! Friends Tatiana Santo Domingo and Dana Alikhani are offering a globally conscious (and correct) shopping venture called Muzungu Sisters. I met the girls last Paris Fashion Week, and bought some pieces including an emerald green velvet jacket I can’t live without! The site is a portal for chic little findings they’ve sourced from their travels all over the globe, hence the name (Muzungu is Swahili for traveler or wanderer) . Think an online souk that showcases the amazing abilities of artisans all over the world, promotes fair trade practices, and helps to stimulate their economies as well!
The pair’s newest product is an exciting collaboration with Missoni and CB Made In Italy! Cute little loafers with the unmistakable Missoni zigzag, and proceeds benefit the Small Steps Project, an organization that delivers shoes and hygiene kits to children who live on trash dumps. The shoes debut at the Sisters’ pop up in Paris now through April 26th and on their website, www.muzungusisters.com. Charities that help less fortunate children around the world are very close to my heart, so please log on and shop to make a difference in your look and in the world!
xx,
Nevena

From being honored by Lycée Francaise to the success of his groundbreaking exhibit in San Francisco, Gaultier is the name on everyone’s lips this Spring! Here’s the behind the scenes video for the new Gaultier-designed Coca Cola Light bottles unveiled yesterday, his first product as the European creative director for the brand in Europe. amid scenes from the Fall 2012 runway show in Paris that we died over. They remind us a bit of his perfume bottles, which also remind us of some of his models….he def stays true to his brand, that’s for sure. Which bottle is your favorite?

Emerging designer Kimberly Ovitz fêted the launch of her new diffusion line, O by Kimberly Ovitz, at Curve NYC with a chic shopping party. Curve’s warm and inviting Soho space, established in 2006, has carried Kimberly’s main line since day one (who can forget those sick equestrian themed pieces from the first collection?!) so Nevena was thrilled to host Kimberly’s celebration for her new collection. Guests including Meredith Melling Burke, Tamara Mellon, and Ali Hoffman perused the designer’s sporty separates while sipping on SkinnyGirl cocktail with rock candy stirring sticks. A portion of all sales went to benefit the ASPCA, an organization that Kimberly supports at every opportunity, so every dollar spent helped save an animal! Shoppers were dying for the sleek & modern knits in pumpkin, persimmon, and mocha – we officially want every single piece! All in all, an awesome event for an amazing designer and we can’t wait to have the line in stores!
Here’s some pics from the event after the jump!

Carine Roitfeld’s new magazine, a biannual named “CR,” will finally debut this September, according to Women’s Wear Daily! While the name is not a huge surprise (she signed all of her editor’s letters as such during her 10 year stint at French Vogue), the magazine’s format was revealed today after being kept under wraps for months. Here’s the skinny – each issue will be about 200 pages (with an online component), revolve around a centralized theme, and will be a mix of work from established talent and emerging artists including photographers, models, stylists, and writers. Roitfeld has also leaned towards more personal touches, replacing block text headlines of sections within the magazine with her own handwriting. We at Curve are positively OB-SESSED with Roitfeld AND she’s one of Nevena’s all-time favorites so we’re super excited!
Here are some mockup images by photographer Sebastian Faena from CR courtesy of WWD. What do you expect to see in Roitfeld’s inaugural issue?

Finally putting all of the speculation (Kanye West?!??!??!) to rest after a year, Dior announced today that Raf Simons will be taking over as artistic director, replacing John Galliano before he was fired following his anti-Semitic rant in a Paris bar last year. The house will formally announce it this Wednesday. Although everyone’s name has been on this list, once Raf was fired from Jil Sander after receiving nothing but rave reviews, we began to think it was because he would fill this post. Besides, with his calm, reserved demeanor, Simons almost the exact opposite of the brash, brazen Galliano, who revamped Dior when he was appointed but often had to issue apologies for his actions throughout the years. What are your thoughts? Do you think Dior made the right choice?

A football jersey never looked so good and whatever your color team is, we got it. We’re all loving the jersey tops over a matching mesh long sleeve and the Zilla black shredded jeans on bottom. We’re feeling the homage to the high school sporty kid gone rogue. Not to worry! we didn’t forget about you girlie girls…the lurex silver mini dresses are beyond sexy and in two different styles, some lucky ladies are about to look really freakin’ hot! You know how it is with Marant, so don’t miss out!
