Every time Nevena goes to Paris, she always brings me back a little bag of tea from Mariage Frères as a present, so imagine my surprise and delight to find out that our apartment was 2 blocks away from one!!!! This tea house was founded over 130 years ago by the Mariage brothers (English translation of Mariage Frères) but the family had been dealing in tea since the 1600s. The men that work there are dressed in suits and measure your tea on antique brass scales….super old school! There’s also a little cafe that I’ll be sure to dine at next time I go, and the tea…… it’s just as beautiful to see as it tastes. The salesgirl told me about the small museum they have downstairs so I went with my camera….all in all a very Parisian experience!!
